COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME (CRPS)

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), is a chronic progressive neurological condition that affects skin, muscles, joints, and bones. The syndrome usually develops in an injured limb, such as a broken leg. However, many cases of RSD involve only a minor, seemingly inconsequential injury, such as a contusion or can even result from a medical procedure. RSD or CRPS can even migrate from the initial area of injury to one not injured.

Common symptoms of CRPS can include constant intractable and excruciating pain, skin sensitivity and a constant burning sensation, skin discoloration, hair loss, partial or total disability, and can lead depression. If you have been injured in an accident or medical event and are now experiencing the symptoms of CRPS or RSD or Causalgia we can help.

Drinkwater & Goldstein, L.L.P.  have represented clients with CRSP/RSD whose injuries resulted from:

>  Auto Accidents

>  Medical Procedures

>  Slip and Fall Events

>  Trauma from a minor shopping cart collision

>  Trauma from products from a display in a store falling and hitting a client

>  Trauma from a minor bicycle accident hitting a hole

>  And many others…

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Insurance companies, even your own company, do not always act in your best interest. They are in business to make money. If you have been injured and are now suffering the complications of CPRS/RSD from that injury the insurance company will try to deny their responsibility and try to minimize the amount they will pay for your medical care. That’s what they are paid to do. Often that means they will offer nothing or far less than you are entitled to receive, depriving you of compensation to which you are entitled.  We will aggressively represent your interests and make sure you receive all the compensation to which you are entitled.  We understand what you are going through and know how to help.  Call our office to schedule a free consultation to discuss your slip and fall accident and there is no fee unless we recover on your behalf.

Depending upon the occurrence of your injury, your insurance company may have the obligation to:

>  Investigate your claim,

>  Communicate with you,

>  Approve necessary medical treatment or testing recommended by your doctor,

>  Pay for any property damage,

>  Pay your medical bills or loss of income.
